Occasional Elementary French Teacher – Halton Region

About the role

The Halton District School Board is seeking qualified French teachers to join its occasional pool for elementary schools across the Halton Region. Positions are short‑term or long‑term, ranging from a single day up to one year, and allow teachers to work in grades 1‑8 within Core French or French Immersion classrooms.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver French language instruction to elementary students in accordance with the board’s curriculum.
• Adapt lesson plans for both Core French and French Immersion settings.
• Collaborate with instructional program leaders and school staff to support student learning.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
• Participate in professional development and utilize online teaching resources.

Required profile

• Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.
• FSL Part 1 certification or equivalent.
• Proficiency in oral and written French.
• Proficiency in oral and written English.
• Recent criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening (within six months).

Required skills
