Needle Loom Operator – 4‑Day Rotating Shift

About the role

We are seeking a Needle Loom Operator to join our Barrie facility on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role follows a 4‑week rotating schedule, alternating between day shifts (7 am‑5 pm) and afternoon shifts (5 pm‑3 am), with a $1 per hour premium for any work performed after 7 pm.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve and transport raw materials using a forklift and other powered equipment.
• Load raw materials into feed boxes and set up needle loom machines according to instructions.
• Operate needle looms to needle‑punch fiber into textile fabrics, monitoring for defects and quality standards.
• Adjust machine settings, troubleshoot stoppages, and report mechanical issues to the team leader.
• Perform basic maintenance, repair, and cleaning of equipment, including cleaning fibers from pulleys, belts, and chains.
• Transport and store finished products and packaging materials throughout the plant.
• Record production and quality data on required reports.

Required profile

• Willingness to work a 4‑week rotational schedule of 10‑hour shifts, Monday‑Thursday.
• Ability to operate a forklift and other powered lifting devices safely.
• Attention to detail for quality inspection and defect detection.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for minor repairs and adjustments.
• Read and follow operating instructions and loom pattern mechanisms.
