National Widow-to-Widow Ministry Leader

About the role

Connecting Streams equips and mobilizes the Church to help society's vulnerable populations know Jesus and experience His power to change the world. The National Widow-to-Widow Ministry Leader develops, supports and resources a leadership team that equips believers to reach out intentionally to those who have lost their spouse or partner. The role reports to the National Director, sits on the Connecting Streams Executive Team and is open to any location in Canada or remote.

Key responsibilities

• Provide spiritual and strategic leadership for the ministry, including its vision, strategic plan and replicable models and tools
• Expand Widow-to-Widow ministries in new cities and regions
• Recruit, coach and mentor the leadership team, resolve conflicts and develop emerging leaders
• Represent the ministry with churches, partners, volunteers and community organizations, speak at events and build strategic relationships
• Manage the annual ministry budget and support fundraising and donor engagement
• Take part in chapel services, prayer times, the semi-annual Worldwide Day of Prayer and staff meetings

Required profile

• 5+ years of ministry or work-related experience
• Deep relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to see lives transformed
• Self-starter, highly organized, able to work independently and build relationships with churches and Christian organizations
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Required skills

• Proficient with Google Suite or equivalent technology
• Public speaking and spiritual leadership in diverse contexts
• Ability to cast vision, develop strategy and lead others
