About the role
CBCL Limited is seeking a Municipal Engineer to join its Halifax office. You will work on a variety of municipal infrastructure projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, client‑focused solutions across Atlantic Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and review contract documents, ensuring technical quality and compliance.
- Design and plan municipal infrastructure projects for cities, towns, governments and developers.
- Perform engineering calculations, design concepts, technical analysis and coordinate with client requirements and regulatory standards.
- Conduct site visits, field assessments and infrastructure investigations, providing technical input during construction.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, design drawings, cost estimates, proposals and tender documents.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with P.Eng. designation or eligibility in Nova Scotia.
- 5+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure design and project delivery, preferably in a consulting environment.
- Knowledge of Atlantic Canadian regulations and municipal standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and stakeholder interaction.
- Organized, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple tasks under deadlines.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.

- Design of water transmission, distribution, pumping and storage systems.
- Design of wastewater collection and pumping systems.
- Stormwater management design.
- Engineering calculations and technical analysis.
- Preparation of design drawings and technical reports.
- Site investigations and field assessments.
