MRI Research Assistant Supervisor

About the role

The MRI Research Assistant Supervisor supports daily operations of UBC's MRI Research Facility, providing technical leadership and acting as the alternate MRI Safety Officer. This role ensures research projects run smoothly, safely, and in compliance with university standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate routine technical and staffing activities for the MRI research area.
• Troubleshoot MRI equipment, resolve workflow issues, and collaborate with research staff and management.
• Serve on committees overseeing project evaluation, training, safety, and core facility operations.
• Implement approved research projects, including protocol standardization, MRI sequence development, and data acquisition workflow optimization.
• Provide relief coverage for the MRI Research Manager as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in a clinical or research MRI environment.
• Knowledge of MRI safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
