Motorhand – Oil & Gas Drilling Operator

About the role

We are seeking a Motorhand to join our oil and gas drilling team in Dawson Creek, BC. The role involves hands‑on work on drilling rigs, handling pipe sections and maintaining mechanical equipment in a remote, outdoor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Align and manipulate pipe sections and drill stems on the rig derrick and floor.
• Operate and maintain diesel motors, transmissions and other mechanical components of the drilling rig.
• Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling and service rigs and related equipment.
• Handle, sort and move drill pipes, tools, cement and other materials, including cleaning rig areas.
• Perform heavy‑load handling up to 45 kg while adhering to safety protocols.

Required profile

• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays.
• Certificates: Standard First Aid, H₂S Awareness, WHMIS, TDG, Rig Worker Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, Fall Arrest Protection.
• Ability to work in hazardous outdoor conditions (heat, cold, noise, dust, wet environments).
• Physical capability to bend, crouch, kneel and perform repetitive tasks.

Required skills

• Operation and maintenance of diesel engines and rig transmissions.
• Pipe and drill‑stem manipulation on drilling rigs.
• Heavy‑load handling (up to 45 kg) and use of rig safety equipment.
