Miner (Levels 1-3) – Underground Operations

About the role

Newmont is hiring Miner Level 1, 2 and 3 positions for its Brucejack underground gold mine in Kitimat, BC. The role involves operating a variety of underground mining equipment in a remote, camp‑based environment while upholding a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate visible safety leadership and follow all site procedures.
• Operate assigned mining equipment safely and perform pre‑start checks and basic maintenance.
• Conduct hazard identification, workplace inspections, and maintain accurate shift reports.
• Support and mentor developing miners and contribute to a high‑performing underground team.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Experience operating heavy or mining equipment (underground preferred).
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug & alcohol test and medical assessment.
• Physically able to work 12‑hour underground shifts and lift up to 50 lb.

Required skills

• Operation of scoop machines.
• Operation of drills, cable bolters, water trucks, graders, haul trucks, and related underground mining equipment.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $56.04–$63.35 (CAD) with annual earnings up to $128,473.80.
• 13 days paid vacation, statutory holidays, and a 10% production bonus.
