About the role
Bantrel is seeking a qualified Mechanical & Piping Field Engineer to join its construction team on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Leroy, Saskatchewan. This full‑time permanent position will work on a camp‑based 14‑day on/7‑day off rotation, ensuring that mechanical construction aligns with design intent.
Key responsibilities
- Perform field inspections and construction walk‑downs to verify compliance with mechanical design intent.
- Address mechanical technical queries and non‑conformance reports arising from construction activities.
- Conduct surveillance audits of key mechanical elements and corrective actions as needed.
- Serve as the liaison between the Owner (BHP), Engineers of Record (HBJV), and the construction team for all mechanical engineering matters.
- Complete mandatory mechanical inspections, including lifting equipment inspections, for all infrastructure within scope.
- Review and assess submittals related to mechanical systems.
Required profile
- Qualified Mechanical & Piping Field Engineer with experience in field inspections and construction walk‑downs.
- Proven ability to handle mechanical technical queries and non‑conformance reporting.
- Experience conducting surveillance audits and lifting equipment inspections.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design intent and its application on construction sites.
