About the role
This co‑op/internship offers hands‑on experience with Gerdau’s Engineering or Maintenance & Reliability teams in the Melt Shop or Rolling Mill. You will receive on‑the‑job training and work on real projects that support plant operations.
Key responsibilities
- Update equipment and facility drawings.
- Assist engineers on capital‑expenditure improvement projects and manage smaller non‑capex projects.
- Work with external vendors, consultants, and contractors.
- Plan maintenance jobs, order parts, and contribute to design projects.
Required profile
- At least two years completed in a Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized university.
- Minimum GPA 2.5 (preferred 3.0 or higher).
- Leadership experience in student organizations or extracurricular activities.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
Required skills
- Proficiency with SolidWorks design software.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD (beneficial).
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work independently.
