Mechanical Engineer – Pressure Boundary & Analysis

About the role

Brunel is seeking a Mechanical Engineer specialized in pressure‑boundary design and analysis for nuclear reactor applications. You will work onsite in Peterborough, Ontario, delivering design, analysis, testing and commissioning of complex mechanical equipment throughout the product life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Execute design, analysis, testing and commissioning activities for pressure‑retaining systems and components.
• Prepare and approve design documentation, drawings, BOMs, technical specifications, test plans and engineering quotations.
• Create 3D models for conceptual design and perform stress analysis using classical methods and finite element analysis.
• Apply DFMA techniques and provide technical support to CAD, procurement, manufacturing, test, quality and commissioning teams.
• Participate in design reviews, internal and external meetings, and present technical data.
• Maintain knowledge of Canadian nuclear codes and standards and ensure compliance with industry and contractual requirements.
• Support proposal development, risk identification, health and safety assurance, and customer relationship management.
