Mechanical Designer – SolidWorks Specialist

About the role

Camfil Power Systems is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join its Laval team. You will be responsible for creating and optimizing 3D models and drawings for air filtration and acoustic treatment systems, ensuring designs meet quality, cost, and timeline requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review design requirements and define project scope.
• Develop and optimize 3D models and drawing packages using SolidWorks.
• Ensure designs comply with specifications, industry standards, and legislation.
• Optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency and cost reduction.
• Identify problems, devise solutions, and incorporate them into designs and drawings.
• Participate in design reviews and support the project engineer and sales team.
• Collaborate with other Camfil branches as needed.
• Prepare sales drawings and 3D models based on customer concepts or mark‑ups.
• Create and manage bills of material (BOMs) and standard catalog parts.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical design experience with a willingness to learn.
• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks.
• Good understanding of fabrication processes and welding symbols.
• Experience designing industrial sheet‑metal products.
• Solid grasp of mechanical design fundamentals and practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Bilingual proficiency in spoken and written English and French.
