Mechanical Designer / Engineer

About the role

Join Savaria’s product development team in Brampton, Ontario, as a Mechanical Designer / Engineer. You will support the creation of new mobility and patient‑care solutions and enhance existing products from concept through validation and production.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks 3D CAD.
• Create and maintain 3D models, 2D production drawings, assembly drawings, Bills of Materials and technical documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, tolerance assessments, fit analysis and basic structural evaluations.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from engineering, manufacturing, quality, installation and service teams.
• Build, assemble, modify and test prototypes for design verification and product validation.
• Prepare test procedures, records and engineering reports under senior guidance.
• Support root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting of design, manufacturing, assembly and field issues.
• Apply design‑for‑manufacturing and design‑for‑assembly principles and select appropriate components, materials, fasteners and finishes.

Required profile

• Early‑career mechanical designer or engineer who enjoys hands‑on product development.
• Collaborative, practical mindset with the ability to work closely with senior engineers, project leaders, manufacturing teams and suppliers.
• Willingness to work on‑site full‑time in Brampton.

Required skills

• SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
• Mechanical design and 3D modelling.
