Mechanical Commissioning Supervisor

About the role

Progesys Inc. seeks a Mechanical Commissioning Supervisor for a mining project in Ontario. The role focuses on timely commissioning of mechanical installations while ensuring environmental, health, and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist contractors and site operations with commissioning and start‑up activities, including walkdowns.
• Execute mechanical commissioning packages and support mechanical completion and pre‑commissioning tasks such as cold/hot alignments of rotating equipment.
• Verify and test mechanical installations, including mining, conveyor, rotating, handling, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Validate process, piping, and services installation against P&ID, and supervise millwrights and supplier representatives.

Required profile

• Mechanical technical diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 + years experience in commissioning, preferably in mining, metallurgy, aluminum, oil & gas, or hydro‑power.
• Strong oral communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Mechanical commissioning and verification.
• Rotating equipment alignment and testing.
• Piping, hydraulic and pneumatic system knowledge.
• Equipment identification and integrity validation against P&ID.
• Supervision of millwrights and supplier personnel.
