Math Teacher (Grades 5‑6) – Spirit of Math

About the role

The Spirit of Math Teacher will deliver mathematics instruction to Grade 5 and 6 students in the Beaches/Riverdale area, using the proprietary Spirit of Math teaching methodology. You will create a structured, supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and deep conceptual understanding.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the classroom to ensure a safe, orderly learning environment.
• Deliver lessons following the Spirit of Math curriculum and administrative system.
• Grade assignments, tests, and exams, and maintain accurate records of grades and attendance.
• Prepare and submit report cards three times per year.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, addressing performance or behaviour concerns.
• Supervise assistant teachers as needed and participate in peer evaluations.
• Attend professional development sessions several times per year.
