Manufacturing Engineer – Exhaust Systems

About the role

Active Dynamics is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join its Toronto team. The role focuses on developing and reviewing manufacturing processes, procedures, and equipment for exhaust system production, working closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver efficient, cost‑effective solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new processes and procedures to ensure smooth transition to production.
• Provide engineering support for packaging, metal cutting, tube bending, MIG and resistance welding, and rolling operations.
• Design and implement new manufacturing equipment to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Lead continuous‑improvement (CI), 5S, and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Support cost‑estimate development for quoting and lead cross‑functional improvement projects.
• Validate and commission new equipment, ensuring compliance with DFM/A design rules.
• Participate in strategic product road‑map discussions, design reviews, and feasibility analyses.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors as needed.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Approximately 10 years of manufacturing experience.
• Hands‑on experience with metal stamping, arc welding, resistance welding, and tube forming.
• Strong understanding of welding and metal‑forming processes.
• Experience with process optimization and cost‑reduction methodologies.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
