Manager, People Operations

About the role

Our client, a growing investment‑management firm, is looking for a Manager, People Operations to lead the hiring engine and build foundational HR processes across a portfolio of companies. The role combines full‑cycle recruiting with the creation of onboarding, policy, and culture‑shaping initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end recruitment for product, design, engineering and finance roles, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination and offer closure.
• Develop proactive talent pipelines and maintain the applicant tracking system, reporting on pipeline health, time‑to‑fill and offer outcomes.
• Design and launch a formal onboarding program that delivers a consistent experience for new hires.
• Create and maintain professional HR documentation such as employment agreements, offer letters, policies and talent assessment frameworks.
• Partner with leadership to define and reinforce company culture through intentional practices and communication.
• Manage confidential employee records, keep org charts current, and coordinate payroll and benefits with external providers.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in recruiting and broader HR functions, with a proven record of closing offers.
• Demonstrated success sourcing and hiring product, design, or engineering talent in competitive markets.
• Experience building HR foundations (onboarding, policies, documentation) from the ground up, preferably as an early People hire.
• Working knowledge of Ontario employment standards to ensure compliant HR practices.
