Manager, Operations, Fund Oversight

About the role

Manulife is hiring a Manager, Operations, Fund Oversight to join its Global Fund Oversight team in Montreal. The role safeguards the accuracy and integrity of Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for internally and externally managed funds, overseeing day-to-day operations, operational support and file reviews. It is an existing vacancy.

Key responsibilities

• Support short- and long-term planning and help deliver fund oversight operational goals.
• Collaborate with team leaders, partners and stakeholders to keep an integrated view of routine deliverables and processes.
• Implement and validate procedural changes, maintain documentation and support change management.
• Manage vendor queries and resolve emerging operational issues with sound judgment and prioritization.
• Identify high-risk processes, recommend mitigating controls and strengthen the control environment.
• Drive process improvements, efficiencies and synergies, supporting peak periods and international partners outside regular business hours when needed.
• Mentor junior team members and share expertise across the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting; a CPA or other financial designation is an asset.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of three years in a managerial or team lead role.
• Fully bilingual (French/English) to support clients from jurisdictions outside Quebec.
• Strong knowledge of fund and investment accounting, securities, settlements, foreign exchange transactions and reconciliations.
• Results-oriented, adaptable, able to meet tight deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations.
