Long-Term Occasional Teacher (LTO) Grade 4/5

About the role

The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking a Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) teacher for Grade 4 or Grade 5. This part‑time position reports to Principal Maë Senick and supports the Board’s commitment to inclusive, equitable education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the Ontario curriculum to Grade 4 or Grade 5 students in accordance with R.R.O. 1990, Regulation 298.
• Plan, implement, and assess lessons that meet diverse learning needs.
• Maintain classroom discipline and foster a safe, respectful learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to enhance student outcomes.
• Complete required administrative tasks, including record‑keeping and reporting.

Required profile

• Minimum of five (5) years of permanent contract teaching experience that can be verified through a resume.
• Ability to provide two professional references, including current or most recent supervisor.
• Willingness to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.
• Optional self‑identification with equity‑deserving groups for the Board’s diversity initiative.
