About the role

The Durham District School Board is seeking a Long‑Term Occasional (LTO) teacher to lead a Grade 7 homeroom. This full‑time (1.0 FTE) position offers the opportunity to create a vibrant, inclusive classroom where students thrive academically and socially.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for Grade 7 students.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction as needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to support student achievement.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs.

Required profile

• Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing.
• Qualified to teach Junior/Intermediate grades.
• Ability to teach Grade 7 as a homeroom teacher.
• Willingness to provide a current criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening.
