Long Haul Truck Driver (Permanent)

About the role

Join F R C Logistics Ltd. as a long‑haul truck driver on a permanent, full‑time basis. You will operate straight, articulated or tractor‑trailer trucks to transport goods across Canada and internationally, working as part of a two‑person team or convoy.

Key responsibilities

• Drive straight, articulated or tractor‑trailer trucks on long‑haul routes, including cross‑border and overnight trips.
• Load, unload and secure cargo on flat‑bed trucks, including tarping and handling dangerous goods.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections of vehicle systems such as brakes, tires, lights and cold‑storage equipment.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption in the driver logbook.
• Communicate with central dispatch via GPS and other navigation equipment, relaying trip updates and incident reports.
• Maintain vehicle condition by adjusting brakes, checking equipment and completing required documentation (bill of lading, dangerous‑goods reports, inspection reports).

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence with Air‑brakes endorsement.
• Valid passport and clean driving record; able to pass drug testing.
• Willingness to travel cross‑border, internationally and overnight for extended periods.
• Physical ability to handle loads up to 23 kg and sit for long periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.

Required skills

• GPS navigation and other vehicle communication systems.
• Manual transmission vehicle operation.
• Air‑brakes system operation and adjustment.
• Documentation handling (bill of lading, dangerous‑goods occurrence reports, inspection and maintenance reports).
