About the role
Smart Global Logistics Inc. is seeking a reliable long haul truck driver to transport goods across long distances. The position is permanent, full‑time and involves extensive time on the road, working either solo or as part of a two‑person team.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer systems to minimise fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Load, unload and secure cargo, and record cargo information, distance travelled and fuel usage.
- Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip vehicle inspections and emergency roadside repairs.
- Communicate with dispatchers and other drivers via two‑way radio while complying with transport regulations.
Required profile
- 1–2 years of experience driving straight or articulated trucks.
- Valid AZ class licence and clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel for extended periods and overnight trips.
- Ability to sit for long periods and work independently.
- Demonstrated flexibility, good judgement, organisation and reliability.
