Long Haul Truck Driver

About the role

Guru Truck Lines Ltd is looking for a long‑haul truck driver to transport goods across various locations. The position involves planning efficient routes, operating trucks safely, and maintaining vehicle condition while on the road.

Key responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes using GPS or other navigation devices to minimise fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Load and unload goods and operate straight or articulated trucks.
• Inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold‑storage units and other equipment before, during and after trips.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections and record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Communicate with central dispatch, relay information and keep accurate logbooks.

Required profile

• No prior experience required – training will be provided.
• Class 1 or A driver's licence with Air Brake (Z) endorsement.
• Willingness to work early mornings, days and weekends.
• Own cellular phone for communication.
• Ability to work on‑the‑road for extended periods.
