Long Haul Truck Driver

About the role

Coast To Coast Transport LTD is looking for a Long Haul Truck Driver to operate straight or articulated trucks for transporting goods across Canada and internationally. The driver will be responsible for safe cargo handling, vehicle upkeep, and coordination with central dispatch.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange travel itineraries, make reservations and obtain special permits for international routes.
• Load, unload and handle dangerous goods, ensuring proper documentation.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, performing pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections.
• Inspect vehicle components such as tires, lights, brakes and cold‑storage equipment; perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
• Maintain communication with central dispatch and relay trip information.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• Valid Class 1/1F/A licence (semi‑trailer trucks) with Air Brake (Z) endorsement.
• Willingness to travel cross‑border, for extended periods and internationally.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.

Required skills

• Operation of GPS and other navigation equipment.
• Use of on‑board trip recorder/computer.
• Preparation and handling of documentation such as bill of lading, driver logbook and inspection reports.
• Vehicle inspection and emergency repair procedures.
