Long Haul Truck Driver

About the role

Gurman Freightlines Inc is seeking a reliable long haul truck driver to transport goods across distances using straight or articulated trucks. The role involves safe vehicle operation, thorough inspections, and accurate record keeping while coordinating with central dispatch.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold‑storage units and other equipment before, during and after trips.
• Perform preventive maintenance and complete pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections.
• Relay information to central dispatch and record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Prepare and maintain accident/incident reports, driver logbooks, inspection and maintenance reports.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• Valid AZ class driver’s licence and clean driving record.
• Ability to sit for extended periods and handle loads up to 9 kg (20 lb).
• Attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in operating GPS navigation and other vehicle communication systems.
• Experience with vehicle inspection, preventive maintenance and documentation.
• Knowledge of accident/incident reporting, logbook entry and trip reporting.
