Locum Physician – Flexible Shifts in Etobicoke

About the role

Medcan Health Management is seeking qualified physicians to join its Year‑Round Care (Urgent Care) and Dedicated Care (Rostered) clinics on a locum basis. You will work flexible shifts, ranging from occasional weekend days to up to 24 hours per week, within the clinic’s operating hours (Monday‑Sunday, 8 am‑6 pm) at locations in Etobicoke and York Mills.

Key responsibilities

• Provide screening, primary‑care assessments and preventive health services for Medcan patients.
• Conduct history‑taking, physical examinations, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications and arrange follow‑up care.
• Educate and counsel patients on lifestyle, wellness and secondary‑preventive strategies.
• Participate in Medcan initiatives such as continuing medical education, research and product development.
• For Dedicated Care, manage a small patient roster, develop comprehensive treatment plans and collaborate with the clinic’s testing and administrative teams.

Required profile

• Service‑oriented approach with strong empathy and collaboration skills.
• Commit to a minimum of one day per week (virtual day acceptable).
• Ability to build and maintain a patient roster within one month of onboarding.
• Current registration in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and an active OHIP billing number.
• CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC designation; experience in preventive care is a plus.
