Locum Emergency Medicine Physician – Penticton Regional Hospital

About the role

We are seeking a certified emergency medicine physician to join the Penticton Regional Hospital Emergency Department on a long‑term locum basis (approximately 6‑9 months) with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent position. The role offers the chance to work in a high‑volume trauma centre serving around 41,000 annual visits while enjoying the lifestyle of the South Okanagan.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute emergency care to patients of all ages in a busy regional trauma referral centre.
• Collaborate with a team of 18 emergency physicians, specialist consultants and radiology services (CT and MRI) to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Participate in double‑physician coverage for day and evening shifts.
• Contribute to teaching activities for UBC Southern Medical Program fourth‑year medical students and family practice residents.

Required profile

• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada – Emergency, or Certificate of Canadian Family Practitioners – Emergency.
• Current licensure to practice medicine in Canada.
• Experience working in an emergency department, preferably in a trauma centre.
