Line Cook - Offsite Catering

About the role

Oliver & Bonacini is hiring a Line Cook for its offsite catering operations in Toronto. The cook prepares food according to the restaurant's standards, works under the direction of the Sous Chef, Chef and/or General Manager, and is expected to stand 100% of the time.

Key responsibilities

• Perform delegated tasks from the Sous Chef, Chef and/or General Manager
• Prepare food daily according to O&B standards, following recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications
• Maintain a prep list of station duties and follow the FIFO method to keep food fresh
• Assist with food inventory and control, and help receive and store deliveries correctly
• Clean prep areas, equipment and utensils, and follow sanitation, food safety and hygiene guidelines
• Follow WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Required profile

• 1-2 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced restaurant
• Able to take direction and work calmly and effectively under pressure
• Able to spend 100% of the time standing
• Culinary diploma or degree is an asset

Required skills

• Basic understanding of professional cooking
• Knife handling skills
