Licensed Industrial Electrician

About the role

Johnson Electric is hiring a licensed electrician for an existing position in Stratford, Ontario, working onsite. The role covers maintaining, troubleshooting, installing and commissioning advanced manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, PLC controls, robotics, hydraulics and pneumatics. Pay is $42.21-$52 per hour on continental rotating shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production equipment and facility systems with Operations, Engineering and Quality teams
• Repair, refurbish and support CNC, PLC and robotic manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and control systems
• Assemble, debug, install and start up new or modified production equipment
• Support planned maintenance and emergency repairs, and maintain equipment documentation and schematics
• Ensure quality and efficiency targets are met and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Train new hires and apprentices on electrical installation standards
• Keep the maintenance department organized, safe and efficient and comply with QHSE management systems

Required profile

• Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician (442A or 309A) or equivalent industrial experience
• At least 3 years maintaining CNC machining and automated assembly equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment
• Ability to work rotating continental shifts
• Strong communication, teamwork, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Bonus points for automotive manufacturing experience, welding and manual machining, and IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 knowledge
