About the role
Spark Power is seeking a Licensed Electrician to support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar, battery storage, and electric‑vehicle infrastructure across its service area. The role involves traveling to job sites, performing hands‑on work on renewable‑energy assets, and ensuring safe, reliable operation.
Key responsibilities
- Follow all health‑and‑safety policies to maintain a zero‑incident workplace.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on utility‑scale, rooftop, and energy‑storage systems.
- Complete maintenance logs, work orders, service reports and safety documentation.
- Use electrical testing equipment (multimeter, megger, thermal imaging) to conduct torque tests and performance evaluations.
- Implement LOTO plans, energizing/de‑energizing procedures and interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Conduct quality‑assurance inspections, document deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
- Adhere to OEM‑specific maintenance standards such as NETA MTS and CSA Z463.
- Participate in on‑call weekend service on a rotating schedule and maintain clean, safe job sites.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of electrical field experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary education in electrical or mechanical fields is a plus.
- 309A Electrical licence preferred.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
Required skills
- Electrical testing equipment (multimeter, megger, thermal imaging).
- LOTO procedures and safety protocols.
- Interpretation of schematics and blueprints.
- Torque testing and performance evaluation of power systems.
- Preventative and corrective maintenance of renewable‑energy assets.
