Legal Counsel

About the role

Ornge is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide timely, practical, and strategic legal advice across a broad range of matters. The role supports the organization’s mission by ensuring contracts, compliance, and risk management are handled effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on commercial, privacy and regulatory issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate vendor, procurement and service agreements.
• Conduct in‑depth legal research and prepare memoranda, opinions and recommendations.
• Support compliance initiatives and identify, assess and mitigate legal risks, including privacy and information governance.
• Assist with litigation and dispute resolution, coordinating with external counsel.
• Monitor legislative changes and legal trends to inform business decisions.

• Highly motivated and detail‑oriented professional with strong analytical abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively with business units and manage multiple priorities.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range $121,518‑$151,450 CAD per year.
• Hybrid work model (3 days onsite per week).
