About the role
We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Canadian legal team on a temporary, full‑time basis while covering a maternity leave. Reporting to the Head of Legal Affairs, you will provide civil and commercial law support for the company’s operations in Canada.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate and validate a variety of contracts and agreements, identifying legal risks.
- Ensure contractual matters comply with the applicable normative framework.
- Prepare legal opinions and conduct research on civil and commercial law issues.
- Interpret legislative standards and advise business units on regulatory changes.
- Collaborate with business units to develop strategies and practical solutions for legal matters.
- Maintain compliance with laws, corporate policies, and governance standards.
- Coordinate with external lawyers, consultants, and suppliers as needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in law.
- Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
- Minimum five years of experience in civil and commercial law, either in‑house or at a law firm.
