Legal Counsel – Fashion (Hybrid, Montreal)

About the role

Our client, a fashion company based in Montreal, is looking for a business‑oriented Legal Counsel to join the legal team on a one‑year contract with the possibility of becoming permanent. The role works three days a week on‑site and supports both Canadian and U.S. operations across commercial, regulatory and compliance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as procurement, licensing, marketing, technology, intellectual property and supply‑chain contracts.
• Provide legal and compliance guidance to cross‑functional teams in Canada and the United States.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risks while aligning with business objectives.
• Deliver legal and compliance training to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with legal and business partners on strategic initiatives and day‑to‑day matters.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
• At least 1 year of post‑bar experience.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadline management.
