Legal Counsel – 1-Year Contract – Fashion Industry – Montreal (Hybrid)

About the role

Our client, a leading fashion company, is looking for a business‑oriented Legal Counsel on a one‑year contract. Based in Montreal with a hybrid schedule (three days onsite), you will support both Canadian and U.S. operations across commercial, regulatory and compliance matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including procurement, licensing, marketing, technology, intellectual property and supply‑chain contracts.
• Provide legal and compliance guidance to cross‑functional teams and help mitigate regulatory risks.
• Identify and address legal issues while aligning with business objectives.
• Deliver legal and compliance training to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with legal and business teams on strategic initiatives and day‑to‑day matters.

Required profile

• Member in good standing of the Quebec Bar.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in private practice or an in‑house legal department.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proven capacity to manage multiple priorities independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and deadline management.
