About the role
The University of British Columbia invites applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure‑track Lecturer position in the Master of Data Science (MDS) program. The role is based in the Department of Computer Science and involves teaching and curriculum development for both undergraduate and graduate courses.
Key responsibilities
- Teach a range of courses, from introductory to advanced topics, in computer science and data science.
- Develop curriculum, course materials, and assessments for the MDS program.
- Participate in service duties for the MDS program and departmental committees.
- Collaborate with faculty from the Computer Science and Statistics departments.
Required profile
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
- Expertise in mathematics for machine learning, applied machine learning, data science, and time series analysis.
- Demonstrated record of teaching excellence at undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Commitment to evidence‑based teaching and enhancing student learning.
