Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering

About the role

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia seeks a full‑time Lecturer to join its faculty. The appointment is for a three‑year term starting January 1, 2027, and the successful candidate will teach a broad range of mechanical‑engineering subjects while contributing to departmental service and administration.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses across mechanical‑engineering fundamentals, experimental methods, and design.
• Develop course materials, assessments, and innovative teaching strategies.
• Participate in departmental service, including committee work and administrative duties assigned by the Department Head.
• Engage with students to support learning and academic success.

Required profile

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia.
• Demonstrated teaching experience, preferably in an academic setting.
