Laboratory Co-op (Water Analysis)

About the role

Veolia's Water Technology Business in Sarnia is looking for a full-time Laboratory Co-op student to support the daily operations of its analytical laboratory. The co-op helps maintain smooth testing workflows and a safe work environment, performing water and hydrocarbon fluid analysis under supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing of water and hydrocarbon fluids according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Follow analytical and quality control protocols accurately, on time and safely.
• Maintain, calibrate and clean laboratory equipment and apparatus.
• Manage inventory of laboratory supplies, sample containers and consumables.
• Receive and handle samples delivered during normal business hours.
• Dispose of waste in line with health, safety and environmental policies.
• Support safety and quality initiatives and report malfunctions, threshold exceedances and non-compliant samples to the laboratory manager.

Required profile

• Rising junior or senior student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Full-time availability for 8-12 months starting May/June 2027.
• Immediate eligibility to work in Canada; no work permit sponsorship offered.

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret instruction and safety manuals.
• Proficiency with Google Suite applications.
