Lab Technician

About the role

The Lab Technician supports the efficiency of Lab Medicine by delivering patient‑focused care across multiple laboratory areas. Working on‑site in a hospital environment, the technician ensures accurate specimen handling, data security and timely service for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Identify patients positively and procure blood and other specimens.
• Accession, label, store, prepare and dispose of specimens according to safety standards.
• Perform clerical duties such as order entry, record maintenance and data confidentiality.
• Rotate through Pathology, Cytology, Microbiology, Order Entry/Specimen Accessioning and Phlebotomy areas.
• Operate laboratory instruments and assist with quality‑assurance activities.

Required profile

• Mandatory competency and experience with blood procurement.
• Previous hospital laboratory technician experience preferred.
• Ability to organize, prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Commitment to continuing education and good attendance record.
