Junior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Fable is looking for a Junior Site Reliability Engineer to help keep the systems that power its accessibility products reliable, performant, and scalable. You will join the Platform Pod, working alongside software engineers and senior SREs to support infrastructure, improve system health, and enhance the developer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor production systems, respond to alerts, and assist in troubleshooting incidents.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior SREs to debug issues across infrastructure and application layers.
• Contribute to observability improvements, including logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Assist with cloud resource provisioning and configuration changes under guidance.
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, stability, and cost efficiency.
• Participate in incident response, post‑mortems, and documentation of systems and processes.

Required profile

• 0‑2 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, SRE, or related fields (including internships).
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Curiosity about production systems and a desire to build cloud‑infrastructure and automation skills.

Required skills

• Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Python, JavaScript, Bash).
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments.
• Understanding of version control systems (Git).
• Exposure to or strong interest in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools.
• Fundamental grasp of monitoring, logging, and alerting practices.
