Junior Logistics Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Logistics Coordinator to join our growing transportation and logistics company in Canada. The role supports daily dispatch operations, shipment visibility, trailer management, and customer service, offering a solid foundation for a long‑term career in logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and track shipments to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Perform tracking and tracing activities and communicate updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Manage trailer pool inventory and utilization.
• Enter and update transportation orders accurately in company systems.
• Support the dispatch team with daily operational requirements.
• Prepare operational reports and performance metrics.
• Investigate and resolve shipment‑related issues promptly.
• Coordinate with drivers, customers, carriers, and internal departments.
• Assist with process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in transportation, trucking, logistics, or supply chain operations (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive problem‑solver with a sense of urgency and accountability.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• Customer‑service mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, advanced formulas, conditional formatting, dashboard creation, macros and basic VBA automation.
• Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is an asset.
