Junior Designer – Marine 3D/2D Modeling

About the role
Serco is looking for a remote Junior Designer to support ship, vessel and boat design projects. You will work in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team, creating and revising 3D and 2D functional and production models or drawings for hull structures, mechanical systems, and interior outfitting.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and update 3D/2D models and drawings for hull, structural steel, mechanical equipment, pipe, HVAC, electrical, and interior layouts.
- Collaborate with the Design Lead, customers, and other Serco teams to ensure design quality and compliance.
- Generate manufacturing information that meets Serco and client standards, quality, and engineering processes.
- Maintain clear communication and timely exchange of information within the team.
- Review own work and peer output for compliance with specifications and classification society requirements.
Required profile
- High school diploma with at least 2 years of 3D modeling or 2D drafting experience in a marine environment.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Reliability Status clearance (Canadian citizenship or permanent residency required).
- Proficiency in ShipConstructor and experience with commercial, Coast Guard, or naval vessels.
