Junior Building Operator

About the role

Zen Residential Ltd. is looking for a motivated Junior Building Operator to assist with the daily maintenance and operation of its residential properties. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience with building systems, resident services, and property turnover.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs in residential units and common areas, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, drywall, painting, and lighting.
• Assist with minor carpentry tasks such as cabinetry, doors, and fixtures.
• Conduct flooring repairs and replacements (laminate, tile, vinyl) as needed.
• Support monitoring and routine checks of building systems (boilers, furnaces, hot‑water tanks, HVAC equipment).
• Manage work orders, communicate timelines to residents, and prepare vacant units for new occupants.
• Maintain logs, inspection records, and safety documentation.
• Coordinate with external contractors and participate in an on‑call rotation for emergency issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fourth or Fifth Class Power Engineering certificate.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and general maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and follow safety and regulatory standards.
