Journeyman/Woman Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic

About the role

Kantrax Contractors Ltd. is seeking a skilled journeyman or journeyman‑woman heavy‑duty equipment mechanic to join their Leduc team. You will be responsible for keeping a fleet of heavy trucks, road sweepers and related attachments in safe, reliable condition.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
• Diagnose issues using computerized testing equipment and determine required repairs.
• Adjust, repair or replace defective parts, including welding where needed.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, lubricating and servicing emission‑control systems.
• Service heavy‑truck attachments, working tools and road‑sweeper components.

Required profile

• Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate and a valid driver’s licence.
• Minimum five years of experience maintaining heavy‑duty trucks and equipment.
• Dependable, reliable team player with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Welding proficiency.
• Computerized diagnostic equipment operation.
• Heavy‑truck repair and component replacement.
• Emission‑control system verification and repair.
