Jack and Roll Class 1 Driver

About the role

Join Barnhart’s team that moves and sets some of the largest industrial components across North America. As a Jack and Roll Class 1 Driver you will operate hydraulic jacking and rolling systems to load, transport and position over‑dimensional loads such as transformers and modules.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with loading, off‑loading, positioning and final setting of over‑dimensional loads using Jack & Slide rigging systems.
• Perform pre‑job system evaluations and Field Level Risk Assessments (FLRAs) to identify hazards.
• Operate hydraulic jacking and rolling equipment during transport and setting operations.
• Complete required documentation including timesheets, job records, FLRAs and maintenance requests.

Required profile

• Class 1 driver’s licence with at least 1 year of winch‑truck or heavy‑haul experience.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to work in dynamic job‑site environments.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work varied schedules, including nights and weekends.

Required skills

• Operation of Jack & Slide rigging systems.
• Hydraulic jacking, rolling and skidding equipment.
• Winch‑truck operation and basic equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience with gantry and heavy‑lift equipment.
