IT Senior Analyst, Power BI Development

About the role

Saputo is hiring a Power BI Developer (IT Senior Analyst) in Saint-Laurent, Quebec. The role partners with business teams to design, deliver and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, acting as a bridge between business users and the enterprise analytics platform. It also leverages AI, Copilot and automation to speed up development, and keeps up with emerging Power BI and Microsoft Fabric capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business processes, KPIs and decision needs into Power BI dashboards and reports
• Build and deliver reports and dashboards, engineer semantic models and enforce data modeling and DAX best practices
• Work with Data Engineering teams to use curated Lakehouse and Fabric data assets, and develop optimized DAX measures
• Tune report performance, validate data accuracy and support production issues such as refresh failures
• Coach business users on Power BI and self-service analytics, and document report logic and data definitions
• Use Power BI AI and automation tools such as Copilot in Power BI/DAX, Fabric Data Agents, Copilot Studio and Smart Narratives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions
• Strong Power BI and Microsoft Fabric experience, in governed enterprise BI environments
• Experience with SAP data and business processes (nice to have)
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to work across multiple business domains

Required skills

• Power BI: semantic models, advanced DAX, M queries, dimensional modeling (Kimball/star schema), report design
• SQL for data validation and analysis
• Microsoft Fabric consumption (Lakehouse, SQL endpoints, Dataflows/Data Factory); Fabric Apps (nice to have)
• Power BI service administration: workspace management, RLS/CLS, capacity awareness
• DevOps / GitHub for version control and deployment; data governance and security
• Power BI AI tools (recommended): Copilot in Power BI/DAX, Fabric Data Agents, Copilot Studio, Smart Narratives, Key Influencers Visual
