IT Field Technician – Technical Support (Hybrid)

About the role

Our client is seeking a reliable IT Field Technician to deliver Level 1 technical support and on‑site installations across Winnipeg and surrounding areas. The role blends office‑based ticket handling with field visits, requiring both troubleshooting expertise and hands‑on hardware installation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 support for hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Resolve help‑desk tickets efficiently and document solutions.
• Travel to client sites to install, configure and maintain IT equipment, including PCs, laptops, printers and network devices.
• Install and service IP camera / CCTV systems.
• Assist with basic network setup – routers, switches, access points, IP addressing.
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibrations on equipment.
• Record all work, parts used and diagnostics in a Field Service Management system.
• Communicate professionally with clients and ensure safety compliance on site.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of experience in IT support, help‑desk or technical field service.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, IP addressing).
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work independently in both office and field environments.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
