Ironworker

About the role

We are looking for a skilled ironworker to join Newton Rebar Service Ltd on construction sites in Surrey, BC. The role involves assembling and installing steel reinforcement, scaffolding and related structures in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.

Key responsibilities

• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms.
• Signal crane operators to position units according to blueprints.
• Align, weld or bolt steel units in place.
• Position and secure steel bars or metal mesh in concrete forms.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1–2 years of ironworking experience.
• Ability to work outdoors, at heights, in confined spaces and hot conditions.
• Physically demanding tasks such as bending, crouching, kneeling and manual dexterity.
• Availability for early morning, evening, weekend and overtime shifts.

Required skills

• Welding and bolting of steel components.
• Scaffolding erection and falsework installation.
• Blueprint and drawing interpretation.
• Use of hand and power tools for steel reinforcement.
