About the role
Use your attention to detail and technical skills in a fast‑growing company where you can have an impact. The British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is seeking an Investment Services co‑op student/intern for the Winter & Summer 2027 work terms (January to August) to support Investment Operations projects related to corporate and asset‑class initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Develop conceptual knowledge of trade workflows in an investment management firm, focusing on illiquid asset classes.
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing workflows/workbooks used in daily operations.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with Investment Operations team members and key operational personnel across departments.
- Develop knowledge of relevant internal systems within the department and BCI.
- Assist in managing ad‑hoc projects and tasks as assigned by the team.
Required profile
- Fundamental knowledge of basic business and investment‑related disciplines.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy, high product quality, and attention to detail.
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
- Interest in investment management, dedication to hard work, commitment to ethical standards, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively in a close interdependent team environment.
