Investment Lending Consultant (Asian Markets)

About the role

Manulife Bank's Specialized Lending team is hiring an Investment Lending Consultant (Asian Markets) in Toronto. The consultant acts as a consultative ambassador for investment and RSP loan products, working with mass-market and mass-affluent Financial Advisors to help them deploy investment lending strategies. The role is hybrid and pays between $85,500 and $125,500 CAD, with salary plus sales incentives.

Key responsibilities

• Dial out to Financial Advisors about 40 times per day to educate them on investment lending products and help them close sales, using Salesforce, cold calling and AI-powered tools
• Hold your own meetings with advisors to explain how investment leverage can help them grow their business
• Call advisors unfamiliar with Manulife Bank to introduce specialized lending solutions for their clients
• Act as subject matter expert on specialized lending products and train advisors and their support staff on bank tools and processes
• Help advisors fill and review applications, handle service cases and escalations, and meet annual sales and activity targets
• Develop quarterly and yearly business plans, take part in territory budget planning, and coordinate events, webinars, email campaigns and lead management
• Analyze sales data, advisor book of business and AUM reports, and forecast for business plans
• Senior consultants mentor new team members through a buddy system and share best practices across business units
• Follow AML/KYC/KYA guidelines, attend team meetings and occasional travel to conferences, and manage a company credit card and budget

Required profile

• Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in banking/insurance
• At least 2 years of experience growing a client base, with a proven sales track record or high potential
• Fluency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese (written and spoken)
• Ability to analyze sales data and reports, and business planning and territory management skills

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Power BI and Adobe platforms is an asset
• Knowledge of banking, investment and insurance is an asset
