Intermediate Purchaser – Electrical Contracting

About the role

The Intermediate Purchaser supports the procurement needs for materials, tools, equipment, and services across high‑voltage electrical projects. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role ensures that all purchases align with project risk profiles, commercial requirements, and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and standardisation of procurement processes.
• Assist junior team members with internal procurement procedures and best practices.
• Create procurement plans based on project schedules and risk registers.
• Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors, considering risk, lead times, pricing and pre‑qualification.
• Maintain full‑cycle vendor management from sourcing to close‑out.
• Prepare purchase orders, subcontract agreements and related documentation in line with project and company requirements.
• Ensure all procurement records are accurate in Vista and SharePoint.
• Incorporate commercial risks and prime‑contract requirements into supplier negotiations.
• Participate in project kick‑offs, contract reviews and weekly procurement meetings.

Required profile

• Intermediate level experience in procurement within the construction or electrical sector.
• Ability to assess supplier risk and align purchases with project schedules.
• Familiarity with vendor management and contract documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Vista procurement system.
• Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint.
