Intermediate Generalist Tutor (Grades 4‑10, In‑Person & In‑Home)

About the role

Join the Prep Academy Tutors team, a private in‑home and online tutoring company dedicated to helping students achieve their fullest potential. As an Intermediate Generalist Tutor you will work with students in Grades 4‑10 across Oakville and Burlington, delivering personalized instruction aligned with the Ontario curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one academic support in core subjects such as Math, English, Science, Social Studies and French.
• Develop customized learning plans that address each student’s strengths, challenges and goals.
• Deliver remedial assistance and enrichment activities to meet diverse learning needs.
• Prepare students for classroom assessments, projects, assignments and tests.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about progress and areas for improvement.
• Optionally support students through online sessions when required.

Required profile

• Current, valid registration with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or a certified teacher in Canada/US (or in the process of certification).
• Enrollment in a Bachelor of Education program or experience as a lecturer/course instructor at an accredited college or university.
• Experience tutoring or teaching intermediate‑aged students (Grades 4‑10) and familiarity with the Ontario curriculum.
• Reliable transportation to travel to students’ homes in Oakville and Burlington.
